We managed to see a dozen humpbacks during the 2-hour cruise. Two dolphins and a seal greeted us back into the harbour. Quite spectacular.

What’s the best time to see whales in Augusta?

The northern Humpback Whale migration begins around mid May. See the endangered Southern Right Whales during July and August. Mother and newborn calves are often spotted on our tour.

What’s the weather like?

The tour is during the winter months and the average daily temperature is around 14°C (57°F). Bring your winter warm clothing and a warm beanie.

Where does the Augusta whale watching depart from?

The Augusta Boat Harbour, located heading towards the lighthouse. Facilities include toilets, BBQs and ample parking.
